Name of the Mine
Tritton Copper Operations.

Location
About 45 km north-west of Nyngan, in central-western New South Wales, Australia.

Mine Owner/s
Aeris Resources.

Brief Description
Tritton Copper Operations is a long-life copper operation and forms the cornerstone of Aeris’ copper production. The operations comprise the Tritton and Murrawombie underground mines.

The Tritton tenement package is highly prospective for base metals deposits, covering about 2 330 km2 of the Girilambone basin.

Brief History
Production at the mine started in 2005. The current mine plan for Tritton extends to the 2030 financial year.

Primary Metals/Minerals
Copper.

Secondary Metals/Minerals
Gold and silver.

Geology/Mineralisation
The Tritton Copper Operations area is host to a group of copper deposits. The deposits are hosted within Ordovician-aged turbidite sequences from the Girilambone basin. The Girilambone basin forms part of the Lachlan Fold Belt. The deposits are typified by massive to semimassive pyrite and chalcopyrite sulphide occurrences.

Deposit geometries are tabular in general. Dimensions vary depending on the size of the system and range between a strike of 15 m to 250 m; down-dip length of 90 m to more than 2 000 m and from 2 m to 80 m in width. Mineralised assemblages are dominated by pyrite with lesser chalcopyrite, and minor gold and silver concentrations. Primary copper mineralisation occurs as banded and stringer chalcopyrite within pyrite-rich units.

Reserves
Total proven and probable reserves as at June 30, 2021, were estimated at 5.3-million tonnes grading 1.3% copper.

Resources
Total measured, indicated and inferred resources at June 30, 2021, were estimated at 16.6-million tonnes grading 1.4% copper, 0.2 g/t gold and 4.2 g/t silver.

Mining Method
Underground – sublevel open stoping, with cemented paste fill.

Major Infrastructure/Equipment
Tritton comprises an underground mining complex feeding a 1.8-million-tonne-a-year conventional processing plant.

Prospects
Tritton has a significant exploration and development programme under way to extend mine life and improve ore grades, which includes the Budgerygar deposit – an extension of the Tritton underground mine, the Avoca Tank underground mine and the Murrawombie pit cutback.
