Name of the Project
Trino solar photovoltaic (PV) plant.

Location
Municipality of Trino, in the province of Vercelli, Italy.

Project Owner/s
Enel Green Power.

Project Description
Trino – comprising nearly 160 000 modules with a capacity of 86 MW – will be one of the biggest solar power plants in the Northern Italy region and will be built adjacent to the former Galileo Ferraris’ power plant.

A 25 MW electrochemical energy storage system will also be installed, which will help to ensure the proper functioning of the electricity system, also providing ancillary services for the grid.

Once fully operational, it will be able to produce an estimated 130 GWh/y – reducing carbon emissions by about 56 000 t and reduce gas consumption by 29-million cubic metres, replacing it with locally produced renewable energy.
