Transnet board's term extended by six months
Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has extended the term of State-owned Transnet's board of directors by six months to January 11, 2027, or until the appointment process for the new board is finalised, whichever occurs first.
The board's terms had previously been due to end on July 12.
As a result of the term extension, Dr Andile Sangqu will continue to serve as nonexecutive chairperson, while Lebogang Letsoalo, Martin Debel, Dipak Patel, Busisa Jiya, Mosadiwamaretlwa Pearl Zambane, Boitumelo Sedupane, Refilwe Buthelezi, KG Mbonambi and Professor Fholisani Sydney Mufamadi will continue to serve as nonexecutive directors.
Transnet CEO Michelle Phillips and CFO Nosipho Maphumulo remain executive directors.
