Three high-priority base metal targets identified at Moz project
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – London-listed Baobab Resources on Tuesday announced that its joint venture (JV) partner in the Mozambique-based Changara project, ASX-listed Metals of Africa (MTA), has identified three new high-priority base metal targets within the project area.
The targets identified by MTA included the large zinc-copper Cassidy Shea prospect; the Rhadonite Hill prospect, with grades up to 14.4% lead at surface; and the Downeaster prospect, which comprised a 1.4-km-long anomaly in soils with elevated lead and zinc and spot high grades of up to 28.7% zinc.
“The positive results from our continued exploration efforts to define these targets has provided MTA with further strong belief in the potential for discovery of a major zinc-copper-lead deposit within the project area,” Baobab stated.
It added that, as the prospects were shallow, drill-worthy targets, further exploration would be conducted to define drill targets, with drilling planned to start by October.
