Rich in natural resources and with a population of over 1.3 billion people, Africa is an attractive market for marketers seeking new ventures. This conference aims to showcase the untapped potential of Africa's vast market, providing attendees with valuable insights and tools to explore new business opportunities. Compelling keynote speeches, interactive sessions and panel discussions will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to tap into Africa’s unique market.
Marketing specialists and practitioners across the continent are urged to attend, including chief marketing officers and vice presidents of marketing; marketing directors, analysts, coordinators, managers and consultants; marketing and promotions managers, digital marketing and data specialists.
The AMC Conference takes place from 6 to 9 September 2023 at Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel in Entebbe, Uganda. This year, it is hosted by the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), the leading organisation for marketing professionals in Uganda. The UMS is responsible for professional skills development, promoting professional marketing standards and practices, including offering membership categories for individuals, corporates and SMEs (small and medium enterprises). The society also undertakes market research and consultancy.
African Marketing Confederation president Helen Mclntee says that the AMC’s annual conference is fast establishing itself as the “must attend” event for marketing professionals in Africa. “We have once again booked a range of exceptional speakers who will be covering diverse and important marketing and marketing related topics. African marketers should not miss this exceptional opportunity to gain new skills and network with marketing professionals from across the continent,” she stresses.
The AMC is a pioneering Pan African body of marketing professionals striving to promote and maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and integrity among the marketing fraternity of the continent. As the umbrella body for African marketing associations, institutes and organisations, the AMC is unifying the bodies in the various countries. It is uniquely positioned to facilitate the exchange of expertise, information and intellectual capital by providing a platform to grow and support marketing leaders in Africa.
AMC’s member organisations are: the Institute of Marketing Management South Africa (IMM); Marketers Association of Zimbabwe; the Zambia Institute of Marketing; Marketing Society of Kenya; Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana; National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN); Institute of Marketing and Management, Mauritius; Institute of Marketing in Malawi; the Moroccan Association of Marketing and Communications; Uganda Marketers Society (UMS). All AMC members are committed to observing all countries’ unique and varying cultures, languages, standards of education and levels of development which require home-grown marketing approaches and solutions designed and implemented by Africans themselves.
The 2023 AMC Conference will be held alongside the inaugural Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICONA). Both events are powered by AfricaPro, which works in partnership with professional bodies throughout Africa to organise their annual events, fostering collaboration and synergy among diverse role players. By connecting and aligning industry best practices, promoting collaboration among professional communities, and inspiring leadership, AfricaPro aims to create a more cohesive and effective professional landscape in Africa.
