Tharisa appoints new nonexecutive director

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Resources group Tharisa has appointed Joanna Ka Ki Cheng to its board as alternate nonexecutive director to Brian Chi Ming Cheng, effective immediately.

Ki Cheng, a Canadian national, was a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of  Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Canada, Tharisa advised shareholders on Friday.

She held more than 15 years’ experience in business  development, investment and management, and was currently NWS Infrastructure Management’s GM, a wholly owned subsidiary of NWS Holdings (NWS), a company whose shares were listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and a subsidiary of which held 15.85% of Tharisa’s issued share capital.

Before joining NWS, Ki Cheng worked at audit firms in Canada and Hong Kong.
