Telkom wholesale and networks MD Bashier Sallie has tendered his resignation after 27 years of service at the JSE-listed telecommunications firm.

Sallie would exit Telkom at the end of this year following the conclusion of his contractual obligation. The group did not elaborate on the reasons for his departure and did not name a successor.

Telkom Group CEO Sipho Maseko lauded Sallie, who joined Telkom in 1986, for his contributions to the group, particularly towards the network transformation programme.

Sallie, working in technology and network services for the bulk of his time at Telkom, had held various positions including managing executive roles in data and special services, service management and field operations.
