Telecommunications group Telkom on Monday warned of lower earnings for the year ended March 31, 2013.

The group expected headline earnings a share to be “at least” 20% lower than the 324.7c reported in the prior financial year.

Telkom said in a statement that it would provide an updated trading statement shortly before the group released its financial results on June 14.

The group’s share price on the JSE was trading at R14 a share by 15:00 on Wednesday, down 1.7% on Friday’s close of R14.68 a share.
