Telkom unveils new products for small business, Internet users
Telkom Business on Tuesday unveiled its latest converged voice offering available to small business from September 9.
Business Circle, which was launched at the Southern Africa Telecommunications Networks and Applications Conference, in Stellenbosch, would deliver unlimited free calling within a closed user group using Telkom fixed-line and mobile platforms.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) now had access to a more tailor-made communication service, as they fulfilled their role in growing the economy and creating jobs, said Telkom Business product house executive Jan Pieterse.
“With unlimited free calling between the various employees of a company, it is guaranteed to drastically lower costs and significantly increase efficiency and productivity in any organisation.”
High quality and affordable communication was vital to the efficient functioning of businesses and Telkom, which was progressing its converged ambitions, was well positioned to assist in the development of the SME sector, he added.
Meanwhile, Telkom’s Internet arm offered customers several promotions from September 1, until March 31. These included free anytime data for specific social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as selected instant messaging platforms; free data on the Night Surfer package between 00:00 and 06:00 daily; and the doubling of 5 GB or more of its SoftCap Internet packages at no additional charge.
“For customers on 1 GB packages the option to upgrade to a 5 GB package means an additional 5 GB, as well as the promotion for social networking and Night Surfer,” said Telkom consumer and retail services division MD Manelisa Mavuso.
Once the SoftCap limit was reached, the social networking services and Night Surfer would also be subject to SoftCap.
