The project involves the construction of the world’s largest, newly built power-and-steam-from-biomass plant, and will be located in the Port of Teesside, Middlesbrough.
It will have a capacity of 299 MW of electricity and steam for self-sufficiency and export to nearby industry and users.
The project will supply renewable energy for the equivalent of at least 600 000 households in the UK.
This project will use wood pellets and chips as fuel from certified sustainable forestry resources from the US and Europe.
