Sparking interest at AEMA
As thousands of mining and exploration executives and operators from across the globe head to the 125th American Exploration & Mining Association’s 2019 Annual Meeting (1-6 December), a key stop for delegates will be MICROMINE’s booth.
“Our team will be on hand to showcase all of MICROMINE’s intuitive mining solutions,” said MICROMINE USA Product Specialist, Caleb Birchard.
“The annual meeting in Sparks, Nevada comes hot on the heels of the much-anticipated launch of Micromine 2020. There’s a lot of interest within the industry to see the latest version of the leading exploration and 3D mine design tool in action – and we won’t disappoint.”
Micromine 2020 builds on the already popular 3D mine design and planning solution with new value-add features and optimized workflows and functionality. Covering all areas of mine design – from intuitive charting and 3D visualizations to rapid geological modelling and precision planning – Micromine 2020 boasts enhanced speed, efficiency, tools and features including a new Stope Optimizer, improved Scheduler, a range of new statistical chart and analysis functionalities, new implicit modelling tools and a new ring design tool.
Delegates looking for insight into recent innovations and technological improvements to help circumvent ‘bottlenecks’ encountered in exploring non-outcropping mineral deposits won’t be disappointed either, as Mr Birchard takes to the lectern at the Advances in Computer Assisted Geological Modelling technical session on 5 December (2.00-5.00pm).
With a background in geology (Master of Science, Geological and Earth Sciences/ Geosciences from Washington State University), Mr Birchard will lead the session on Large Left Lateral Leaps to Geologic.
Mr Birchard will explore how innovative and time-saving tools like implicit modelling rapidly advance exploration projects by transforming digital data into dynamic shapes such as veins, faults lithologies and surfaces – taking away the individual bias associated with conventional geologic modelling.
“Integrating new tools with conventional modelling adds extra confidence to geological models and interpretations, increasing the cost-effectiveness and chance of a project’s success,” Mr Birchard said ahead of what is set to be a lively and provocative talk.
Following the session, participants will be able to head to the MICROMINE stand and see theory put into practice with a demonstration of Micromine 2020.
“We invite geologists, engineers, mine planners and production schedulers to come along to our stand and see how Micromine 2020 delivers superior functionality across the entire mining value chain,” said Mr Birchard.
Based in MICROMINE’s Colorado office, Mr Birchard will be joined by his colleagues at booth #517 to demonstrate the latest versions of MICROMINE’s software solutions. The product specialists will be on hand answer any questions delegates have as they showcase the capabilities of MICROMINE’s solutions in delivering exceptional results.
More than 250 exhibitors will be stationed in the Core Shack as mining experts from leading companies from all over the world meet to exchange ideas, showcase their ground-breaking mining systems and share their successes during the 6-day convention at Nugget Casino Resort.
A premier convention for the exploration and mining industry, AEMA 2019 hosts a strong technical program with more than 100 prominent and informative speakers. Delegates can participate in technical sessions, embark upon relevant short courses, take field trips, as well as network with industry professionals from worldwide exploration destinations.
MICROMINE has attended the prestigious and influential event for many years, demonstrating its intuitive software solutions and providing insights into technological developments and innovations that enhance global geological pursuits.
