Sienna back drilling at Sweden nickel/copper project
Vancouver-headquartered Sienna Resources will start a new drilling programme at its flagship nickel, copper and cobalt project, in Sweden, next month, to test multiple high-priority drill targets.
The 2019 programme at Slättberg followed initial drilling last year, which yielded encouraging results. Follow-up surveys and sampling had provided new targets that would be tested.
“We are excited to be back drilling on our project. Nickel prices have been surging recently and a general overall optimism for junior mining is taking hold,” president Jason Gigliotti said on Monday.
Sienna has reserves to cover the planned drill programme, he added.
The Slättberg project, located 25 km north-west of Falun, is in an historic mining camp hosting nickel/copper/cobalt-rich massive sulphide mineralisation that occurs within a 2 km belt of historic nickel/copper mines.
The project contains drill defined massive sulphide mineralisation that extends to about 100 m in depth, and remains open for expansion at depth and along strike.
