Project Description
The Lower Don valley was devastated by flooding in 2007. Improving protection against flooding, including a 1- in-100-year event, such as the 2007 flood, the project will undertake the installation of more than 50 interventions along an 8 km stretch of the Don river between the Wicker and the Blackburn Brook by the M1 motorway.

The project is one of the largest flood-protection schemes in the UK.

£19-million.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-2016.

Mott MacDonald has begun design work on the Sheffield Lower Don valley flood defence project.

The consultancy is working for Carillion on their design and build contract with Sheffield City Council.
