JOHANNEBURG (miningweekly.com) – Mineral sands developer and explorer Sheffield Resources has appointed Mark Di Silvio as CFO and company secretary.

With over 25 years’ resources industry experience, Di Silvio’s professional career includes gold operations and development experience in the Kalgoorlie region, and senior finance roles with Woodside Petroleum in Australia and Africa prior to joining gold miner Centamin as CFO.

His most recent position was CFO for TSX-listed Mawson West.

Di Silvio’s previous experience also included positions as CFO and company secretary with ASX-listed Ausgold and Central Petroleum.

MD Bruce McFadzean noted that with his significant experience in financial management, debt and offtake funding and product offtake agreements, Di Silvio was an asset to the company it advanced the development of  its Thunderbird mineral sands project, located on the Dampier Peninsula.

“This appointment brings additional strength and experience to Sheffield’s management team as we work towards achieving our key 2016 targets of funding and offtake and we welcome him to our team.”
