JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed mining services provider and coal miner Sentula Mining on Thursday announced that it expected to report a basic loss a share of between 83.6c and 100.1c for the year ended March 31, while the headline loss a share for the year was expected to be between 41.2c and 46.2c.

During the previous financial year, the company reported a basic loss a share of 148.5c and a headline loss a share of 24.9c.

The basic loss a share from continuing operations was expected to be between 43.5c and 52.1c, while the headline loss a share from continuing operations was expected to be between 25.8c and 30.9c.

The company said the period’s results were largely the result of the effect of accounting for the sale of Sentula’s stake in the Nkomati anthracite mine, in Mpumalanga, as a discontinued operation; a further impairment of Sentula subsidiary Geosearch’s property, plant and equipment, associated with its international operations; and the restructuring at Sentula group and operating entity level.

Sentula expected to release its year-end financial results on or about June 26.
