Broadcasting signal distributor Sentech has appointed Mlamli Booi as CEO, effective October 13.

He succeeded Dr Setumo Mohapi who was appointed CEO of the State Information Technology Agency in April.

CFO Rudzani Rasikhinya had served as acting CEO in the interim.

“The board has confidence in Mlamli’s ability to provide outstanding leadership and he embodies the experience, vision and leadership skills necessary to lead Sentech to greater heights. His deep understanding of the information and communications technology (ICT) sector renders him ideally suited to be our next CEO,” said chairperson Magatho Mello.

Booi has more than 20 years’ experience in ICT engineering, policy, regulation, strategy and management and holds an MSc Degree in Engineering from the University of Cape Town and a postgraduate diploma in project management.
