Project Description
The project involves the modernisation of Section 10 of the country’s D1 motorway – a 6.5 km stretch near the interchange between the villages of Hořice and Kobervice.
The modernisation works will include renewing the pavement, widening the paved shoulders, demolishing and rebuilding an overpass and relaying subgrade cable services.
The project will also involve the restoration of four bridges, including a double three-span bridge over the Švihov reservoir, in Prague. Additionally, sewerage and drainage systems for the road will be replaced and upgraded with additional oil safety catch basins.

Latest Developments
The Road and Motorway Directorate has appointed the Mott MacDonald-led joint venture (JV) – comprising Czech consultants Dopravoprojekt Ostrava, joint-stock company SHB and engineers Stráský, Hustý and Partners, to modernise Section 10.
Mott MacDonald will coordinate the activities of the JV and complete the comprehensive designs for the carriageway and bridge restorations using the CAD Civil 3D system.
