Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has extended the term of the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) board beyond August 31, until a new board is appointed.

The Department of Transport is recruiting a new board and says the process will be concluded soon.

The current board members – Themba Barrange Mhambi (chairperson), Robert HaswellNkareng Mpobane, Thamsanqa Piet MatosaLungile Madladla and Skhumbuzo Macozoma (CEO) – were appointed in August 2018.

Sanral communications GM Vusi Mona says the board will continue to serve with distinction.

“We welcome the extension of the term of the current board. The board members have maintained good corporate governance at Sanral and we have no doubt that they will continue to lead with excellence until the conclusion of their term,” he adds.
