TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – The world’s biggest diamond producer by volume Alrosa has found a 105.6 ct stone at its Jubilee kimberlite pipe.

The precious gem was described as "4 Black Sawables 2 colour" quality with an octahedral shape. It was transparent, with a moderate yellowish hue.

There was small olivine, graphite and sulphide inclusions in the crystal, which was extracted by the company's business unit Aikhal Mining and Processing Division at the processing plant No 14.

The Jubilee pipe was known for its significant finds. Several diamonds ranging from 50 ct to 120 ct in size were recovered from the deposit so far this year.

Alrosa had in September also recovered a 102.85 ct stone from the same mine.
