Project Description
According to the original procurement notice from the Ministry of Nairobi Metropolitan Development, the project will entail the construction of:

• A 56.5 km sewerage network, which includes providing, testing, excavating, laying and backfilling the required levels for spigot and socket flexible jointed concrete pipes of diameters ranging from 225 mm to 1 200 mm;
• 825 concrete manholes and associated works, which includes the providing, testing, excavating, laying and backfilling the required levels for precast concrete-ring manholes of diameters ranging from 1 050 mm to 1 200 mm;
• Wastewater stabilisation pond units, with a combined 20 736 m³/d capacity, consisting of inlet works, an influent channel and inlet distribution chamber, four parallel anaerobic ponds, four parallel facultative ponds, two maturation ponds in series, an outlet channel and outlet works, two sludge-drying beds, sludge disposal facilities, plant water and wash water supply, ancillary support facilities, site roadwork and drainage, an access road to the wastewater treatment plant; and
• The testing and commissioning of works.
