Sokhna Industrial Zone, in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SC Zone), in Egypt.

Project Description
Egypt plans to establish a tyre-manufacturing factory on an 400 000 m2 site.

The project will be implemented in three phases.

Phase 1 involves the implementation of construction work for the factory, along with production lines for the tyres, with a capacity of 2.5-million tyres a year.

Phase 2 includes adding a light transport tyre production line producing 3.5-million tyres a year, and providing 40% of them for the local market.

In Phase 3 production will be expanded to seven-million tyres a year after adding the heavy transport tyre production line.

Potential Job Creation
The project will provide 1 000 direct and indirect job opportunities.

Capital Expenditure
Phase 1 is estimated at between €400-million to €450-million.
