Near Nouakchott, in Mauritania.

Project Owner/s
Infinity Power Holding, a joint venture between Egypt’s Infinity and United Arab Emirates’ Masdar, and Conjuncta.

Project Description
A green hydrogen plant will be developed over four phases. The plant could reach electrolyser capacity of up to 10 GW, making it capable of producing up to eight-million tons of green hydrogen or its equivalent in renewable fuels of nonbiological origins.

Potential Job Creation
About  3 000 workers during construction and up to 1 000 will be employed  when operational.

Planned Start/End Date
The first 400 MW phase of the project is expected to be operational by 2028.

Latest Developments
Infinity Power and Conjuncta signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Mauritania in March 2023 to develop a green hydrogen plant.
