London-listed Red Rock Resources expects the environmental-impact assessment (EIA) for Tin Hill – its first planned lithium production site in Zimbabwe – to be approved from mid-April onwards.

The EIA was recently submitted to the relevant authorities and, once approved, additional geologists and staff will be mobilised to site ahead of pre-mining preparatory work.

"Work has progressed in Zimbabwe on key administrative, technical and regulatory tasks, and with the conclusion of the community engagement programme we have now filed the complete EIA for our first planned lithium production site, Tin Hill, for approval.

"In February, illegal miners appeared on site, but prompt action ensured that only a minimal delay of about two weeks was caused before we were back on track," says Red Rock chairperson Andrew Bell.
