Telecommunications group Telkom has completed the structure of its newly formed executive committee with the appointment of Ouma Rasethaba as chief risk officer, with immediate effect.

The former regulatory and corporate affairs chief, who had been with Telkom since 2006, would be responsible for the overall control of Telkom’s risk management processes and the identification, assessment and response to risks that influence the company’s ambitions.

Group CEO Sipho Maseko said in a statement that Rasethaba would also lead the group’s legal services, which included managing the implementation of good corporate governance principles.

“Rasethaba has played a valuable role at Telkom over the years, first as group executive for regulatory and public policy and later as chief of corporate governance,” Maseko pointed out.
