JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Gold producer Ramelius Resources on Monday announced that mining at its Coogee openpit operation, near Kambalda in the Eastern goldfields of Western Australia, had been successfully completed, with 33% more tonnes mined than planned.

The company said that 146 000 t of ore had been extracted from the pit.

At the end of February, a total of 62 000 t of ore had been milled at an average recovered grade of 5.8 g/t of gold, compared to the ore reserve grade of 5.2 g/t of gold.

Coogee ore would continue to be milled at the Burbanks processing plant with milling expected to be completed in August this year.
