The project entails the construction of an 11-m-high flood-control dam.
The dam will comprise three earth dykes – one 9.6 km long on the left bank, one measuring 8.8 m on the right bank and a 4 km central dam with a sluice gate. The area behind the dam will have a capacity of 185-million cubic metres of water.
