R114 road rehabilitation project.

Location
The project is located near Muldersdrift in the West Rand, in Gauteng, South Africa.

Project Owner/s
Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport.

Project Description
The R114 road connects Johannesburg and Mogale City, and also serves as a major route to the North West. The project will rehabilitate the current road surface, and realign and reconstruct the intersection with Cedar road.

Other works to be undertaken are the construction of edge beams, reinstating road markings and damaged signs, repairing guardrails, cleaning the road reserve, cleaning and repairing all drainage structures, as well as constructing new drainage structures.

The R157-million project is fully funded by the provincial Department of Roads and Transport, with a portion of the project implemented under the auspices of the Expanded Public Works Programme.
