Public and private sectors must work together to grow the economy

The only way to grow the South African economy is for the public and private sectors to work hand-in-glove. A public-private partnership approach to energy and transport constraints will open the way for a return of economic competitiveness, which must be targeted with conviction. At every level, every effort must be made to advance the economy well beyond the stagflation that is dragging it down.

The red tape must be cut out of the financing models needed for economic upliftment and every part of the economy must be released from needless bureaucracy. South Africans must embrace reality and commit to the pursuit of proven best practice to reduce unemployment, diminish inequality and alleviate poverty.

A lot more diversity of thought, personality and approach should be encouraged to arrive at better solutions within a better economy. This country’s greatest opportunity lies in opening the way for private sector participation in public infrastructure delivery through public-private partnerships.
