Name and Location
Prominent Hill copper mine second decline project, Australia.

Oz Minerals.

Project Description
The expansion project entails the construction of a second access decline linking existing underground development at Prominent Hill with the openpit.

This will lift the peak capacity of the underground mine by about 30% to between 3.5-million tonnes a year and four-million tonnes a year.

This additional capacity will enable Oz Minerals to bring forward underground production from 2018 to 2022. This is in line with the company’s strategy of extracting maximum value from the operating asset.

The decline will be about 1 400 m in length.
