JSE-listed cement producer PPC has announced that Veliswa Rozani will be appointed as its new CFO and executive director, with effect from October 1.

This follows a previous announcement by PPC in March on the retirement of predecessor Brenda Berlin, with effect from June 30.

As an interim arrangement, PPC chief strategy officer Paulo Marques has been appointed acting CFO, with effect from July 1.

The PPC board has completed the required fit and proper assessment of Rozani in line with the JSE Listings Requirements and is satisfied with the outcome and confirms that there are no integrity-related matters to report in her director's declaration.

Rozani is a chartered accountant (SA) with over 20 years’ experience in senior financial leadership roles across multinational and South African organisations.

She currently serves as group CFO of motor vehicle dealer NMI–Durban South Motors, a joint venture partner of industrial company Barloworld South Africa.

Previously, Rozani was the CFO of Barloworld Motor Retail South Africa. Her career also includes senior roles at multinational corporations Johnson & Johnson and Microsoft South Africa.

Rozani completed her articles at professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds a BCom (Hons) and an MBA (cum laude). She has extensive experience in finance, governance, risk management and capital allocation.
