Ketso Gordhan, the CEO of PPC, has bought R6.13-million worth of shares in the South African cement company, the firm reported on Monday.

Gordhan bought 200 000 shares at R30.65 a share, which, together with his forfeitable share plan allocation, makes him one of the top 25 direct (private) beneficial shareholders of PPC.

“This share purchase by Mr Gordhan indicates his confidence in the group’s future and especially its African expansion strategy,” the group said in a statement.

Gordhan took over as CEO of the JSE-listed company on January 1.
