JSE-listed Altron subsidiary Power Technologies (Powertech) has bought a majority share- holding in turnkey substation solutions provider QuadPro for an undisclosed amount.

Powertech merged its turnkey substation business division within Powertech System Integrators into QuadPro, which would be renamed Powertech QuadPro, Powertech said in a statement earlier in the month.

“This new combined operation will have the economies of scale and the resourcing needed to grow the turnkey substation business in South Africa and the rest of the African continent,” the group said.

The group had secured projects in excess of R100-million to date.

Powertech QuadPro CEO Harry Browne noted that the merger would strengthen its relationship with its cus- tomers in South Africa and the rest of Africa and ensure the delivery of high-quality projects within clients’ budgets and requested timeframes.
