Project Description
The project aims to investigate options for sustainable methanol production from captured carbon dioxide and sustainably generated hydrogen.
The planned industrial-scale demonstration plans to produce up to 8 000 t/y of sustainable methanol and prevent the emission of 8 000 t/y of carbon dioxide.
The carbon dioxide is captured using carbon capture and utilisation, through which carbon dioxide emissions are partially recovered and then combined with hydrogen generated from renewable energy.
For each tonne of methanol produced, at least one tonne of carbon dioxide emissions would be avoided.
