Name of the Project
Potrero Solar photovoltaic (PV) power project.

Location
The project is located in Jalisco, Mexico.

Project Owner/s
Fotowatio Renewable Ventures.

Project Description
The Potrero Solar plant will have a generating capacity of 296 MWp (front side), making it one of the world’s largest bifacial PV projects to secure financing, and one of the largest merchant PV projects worldwide.

It will use bifacial PV modules, which have the ability to capture direct sunlight from the front and reflected light from the rear side, resulting in higher yields, compared with conventional PV modules.

The facilities will be capable of producing more than 700 000 MWh of clean, renewable energy each year – enough to provide power for more than 350 000 house-holds.

It will also prevent the emission of 345 000 t/y of carbon dioxide.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create up to 1 500 jobs during its construction phase.

Capital Expenditure
