Polyflor SA hosted its biennial sales and marketing conference at the scenic Askari Game Lodge & Spa in Magaliesberg recently.  Forty of Polyflor’s staff, sales representatives and agents from across the country attended a long-weekend filled with teambuilding activities, sales and marketing training and networking which all centred around the theme of growth.

“We’ve been hosting these weekend break-away conferences for quite some time now.  This time together, away from the office environment, has proven to be a valuable opportunity for our sales teams and agents from all four corners of the country to compare notes, share ideas and hone their skills for the marketplace,” says Tandy Coleman, CEO of Polyflor SA.

Activities and discussions at this year’s conference all centred around the theme of growth and were aimed at positioning the new company strategy, which is focussed on a holistic solution experience, and to ensure the entire team was on-board with this change journey. “Growth is a very important and necessary component when you embark on change.  Choosing the “GROW” theme was therefore a natural choice for this year’s conference.  We used this conference to highlight the importance of personal and overall company growth and spent a lot of time focussing on creating the ultimate customer-centric experience,” Tandy says.

International experts Robert Wardrop, Senior International Sales Manager at Polyflor Limited (United Kingdom) and Phil Walker, International Sales Manager at Gradus Limited (United Kingdom) shared some of their secrets to success and gave updates on developments in the international markets, while group activities and training sessions were focused on strategic thinking and the importance of the client experience.

While it was a weekend of hard work and intense participation for everybody concerned, there was also time for teambuilding activities and networking.  The company’s annual gala dinner during which various service awards were handed out, brought the weekend’s activities to a climax.

“It was a challenging, but insightful weekend.  The idea of incorporating the GROW theme into every touchpoint and experience throughout the conference was very well received and we all walked away feeling motivated, energised and having gained some valuable insights from the experience,” Tandy concluded.
