ASX-listed Pioneer Lithium has announced the discovery of mineralised pegmatite outcrops at the Red Squirrel prospect in the central corridor of its Root Lake project, in Ontario.

This discovery gives strength to the company’s expectations of the continuation of fellow ASX-listed Green Technology Metals’ Root Bay pegmatite into its claim area, said Pioneer CEO Clinton Booth.

“This discovery of spodumene-bearing pegmatite in our claim area is a tremendous way to end this fieldwork campaign, and caps off the recent discovery of the massive pegmatite swarm in the central corridor zone,” he commented.

The mineralised pegmatite outcrops discovered contain up to 5% visible spodumene located about 500 m west of the Root Bay discovery, recently announced by Green Technology Metals.

Green Technology Metals reported an inferred resource of 8.1-million tonnes at 1.32% lithium oxide at its Root Bay pegmatite system.

Pioneer’s Root Lake project comprises 94 claims totalling 1 927 ha.
