Pierre Spies To Join Pinnacle Africa As Ceo

Arnold Fourie, CEO Pinnacle Technology Holdings, announced today that one of the IT channel’s most respected executives, Pierre Spies, will be joining the group as CEO of Pinnacle Africa and will report directly to Group Head of Distribution, Henry Ferreira.
Spies is currently a consultant to MB Technologies on a one-year contract following his resignation as Tarsus CEO in May this year. He will take over the reins from current Pinnacle Africa CEO Louis Fourie in June 2014. Fourie will be moving into the role of Group Operations Director and Pinnacle Africa MD, Tim Humphreys-Davies will remain in the position he was appointed to in May this year.
“We are really excited about Pierre joining Pinnacle Africa,” said Humphreys-Davis. “He has a wealth of experience and a proven track record in distribution which will help us to grow the business and execute our future strategies.”
“He is a huge asset to the group and brings with him a great deal of value to the business,” he added.
Spies obtained his BCom accounting degree in 1989 from the University of Johannesburg and in 1987 joined Coopers and Lybrandt, an accounting firm in order to complete his articles.
He then joined Tarsus in 1992 as an accountant until 1994 when he was promoted to the position of Financial Director. In 2007 he took over as CEO of Tarsus and served on the MB Technologies Group board as an Executive Director from 2009.
Spies said that he is excited to be joining one of the country’s largest ICT distributors. “I am really looking forward to the new challenge presented to me at Pinnacle Africa,” he said. “And I’m relishing the prospect of working with a formidable team that has built up a fantastic track record over the last five years.
