PetroSA appoints group CFO
National oil company (NOC) PetroSA group CEO Nosizwe Nokwe-Macamo said on Thursday that the appointment of Lindiwe Bakoro as group CFO, effective November 11, would greatly assist the NOC in its current growth trajectory.
“She brings a wealth of merchant banking, project and infrastructure finance experience that will immensely assist PetroSA and ensure the company grows and is sustainable,” Nokwe-Macamo noted.
Bakoro, a chartered accountant, holds a BCom degree, a postgraduate diploma in accounting and a MCom degree from the University of Cape Town, as well as a postgraduate diploma in tax law from the University of the Witwatersrand. She also has 12 years post-articles experience in property investment and management, as well as in the merchant banking areas of project and structured finance.
She previously worked as a structured financier for Rand Merchant Bank, focusing on property finance, and had experience in project finance specialising in concessions, public–private partnerships and infrastructure finance. Her role had also focused on financial advisory, black economic-empowerment (BEE) advisory, debt and BEE equity structuring and arranging.
Bakoro was pivotal in the conclusion of transactions in the health, property, telecommunications and alternative fuels sectors, and had also founded her own financial advisory business.
She is a board member of various companies, including Woolworths, Group Five, Sea Harvest and Hyundai Automotive South Africa.
