JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Gold mining company Pan African Resources on Wednesday announced the appointment of former Shanduka Resources MD Rowan Smith as nonexecutive director.

Smith, whose appointment date would be announced once the relevant Aim processes had been completed, was replacing former Pan African nonexecutive director Rob Still, who was leaving the company owing to increasing global responsibilities relating to his private equity business.

“The board of directors and I would like to thank Rob for his invaluable contribution to Pan African over the past ten years, during which Pan African has grown from a junior exploration company to a midtier miner with a market capitalisation in excess of $400-million. We wish him well in his future endeavours.

“Rowan's appointment as a nonexecutive director will further strengthen the technical and commercial expertise available to our board, and we look forward to working with him," Pan African chairperson Keith Spencer commented.
