Project Description
The project involves the augmentation of the existing water scheme in the OR Tambo, Mthatha and King Sabata Dalindyebo district municipality.
The Mthatha dam, which has a volume of 254-million cubic metres, will feed into four supply corridors – Rosedale to Nqadu; Rosedale to Libode and Ngqeleni; Thornhill to the airport, Bedford hospital, military base and surrounding areas; and from Thornhill to Mqanduli through Viedgesville – through two regional water treatment works at Thornhill and Rosedale.
