AltX-listed logistics group OneLogix on Monday announced that it would transfer its listing to the transportation services sector of the JSE main board on June 18, exposing the group to a larger pool of capital and driving further organic growth potential.

“We are confident that once we are appropriately positioned alongside our peers on the main board, we will be strong contenders in the competition for capital, which will be used to fund new acquisitions,” CEO Ian Lourens said in a statement, adding that the group’s strength was reflected in its organic growth over the last six consecutive half-yearly reporting periods.

Listed on the JSE’s AltX for 13 years, the company had achieved average yearly compound growth in revenue of 37%, average growth in operating income of 26%, an average increase in headline earnings a share of 21% and a yearly improvement in operating cash flow of 27%.

Commenting on the company’s market competitiveness, Lourens that the group’s track record was built chiefly on a spread of “well-conceived and resilient” businesses, which were positioned in well-defined niche markets characterised by relatively high barriers to entry.

“In addition, our strength has been in reserving the entrepreneurial nature of our operations, which has enabled the effective decentralisation of operations with solid support at the centre from the group,” he emphasised, adding that good margins had been maintained in all underlying companies.

Further, the group’s exit from its noncore businesses had positioned OneLogix to focus on its larger core businesses and to pursue acquisitions.

JSE client relationship manager Nicole Cheyne added that the JSE fully supported the company’s move to the main board.

“OneLogix is a perfect reflection of AltX’s success as it was conceptualised - a place where smaller companies could list and grow,” she commented.

A niche player in the logistics industry and one of the largest AltX listings by market capitalisation, OneLogix provides a range of logistics and business support services, including specialised transport, retail and logistics solutions.

The group was awarded the Best AltX Company accolade in 2011.
