PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Northern Territory government has approved the mine management plan for ASX-listed Emmerson Resources’ Black Snake gold mine.

The Black Snake mine was one of the small mine developments being undertaken by Emmerson in the Northern Territory.

Minister for Primary Industry and Resources Ken Vowles said that the project would involve the construction of three 25 m vertical shafts and a connecting horizontal shaft on Black Snake Hill to determine the volume and geology of the Black Snake gold mineralisation.

“What Emmerson discovers could lead to the development of a more extensive mining operation, which would result in even more jobs for the region,” Vowles said.

Any future mining at the Black Snake Project will be subject to further approvals under the Mining Management Act.

Vowles said that the approval of the Black Snake project was part of the Territory government’s plans to develop Tennant Creek as a mining hub to create jobs and boost the local economy.
