PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Noble Mineral Resources has reported this week that a joint technical committee with investor Resolute Mining has identified a number of immediate opportunities to improve operating efficiencies at the Bibiani gold project, in Ghana.

These initiatives include the implementation of a traditional owner-operator model for the mining fleet, the company said.

Additionally, the committee was also conducting a review on the Bibiani project’s resources and reserves, including current optimsiations, pit design, mine scheduling, incorporation of potential underground resources, and exploration strategies.

At the end of the technical review process, the committee would advise the Noble board on the best development plan and timetable for the Bibiani project.

In November last year, Noble agreed to a revised offer from Resolute Mining, securing an A$85-million injection to commission and ramp-up gold production at Bibiani.

The project is currently estimated to host some 2.8-million ounces of resource, including 972 000 oz of reserve. The project has a ten-year life-of-mine, based on the current mining parameters.
