PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Shanghai-listed ENN Ecological Holdings on Wednesday refuted claims that it had reached an agreement with Santos suitor Harbour Energy over its 10.31% shareholding in the takeover target.

ENN advised Santos that the media speculation around its dealings with Harbour had been inaccurate, confirming that the company had not reached an agreement with Harbour regarding the takeover offer, but had only expressed the intention to engage with Harbour.

Harbour in April made a A$13.5-billion offer for Santos, offering shareholders $4.98 a share, or A$6.50 equivalent, following three failed unsolicited offers for Santos, the last of which was priced at A$6.37 a share.

Santos on Wednesday again urged shareholders not to take any action in relation to the Harbour proposal.
