A new line of power supply products that promises flexible installation options and a wide operating temperature range, is now available.
IDEC Corporation recently introduced its PS3V series of switching power supplies, which are said to provide a superior price to performance ratio, assured reliability and functionality, and new features such as push-in connections for simplified installation.
PS3V power supply products accept a wide input voltage range from 85 volts of alternating current
(VAC) to 264 VAC, and an output of 5 volts of direct current (VDC), 12 VDC, and 24 VDC with capacities ranging from 15 W to 150 W, depending on the model. Output voltage is user adjustable by about 10%, and the 24 VDC versions deliver efficiencies ranging from 83% to 88%.
A compact metal housing protects the PS3V power supply and it can be mounted in four orientations, by direct panel mount or DIN rail bracket. Mounting brackets are the same as for the previous PS3X series, to help facilitate upgrade options. Models are available with traditional screw terminals, or with push-in terminals designed for safe and rapid one-step wiring. A wide operating temperature range from -25 °C to 70 °C allows the power supplies to work in a range of environments.
PS3V power supplies have UL61010 and cUL approvals and are safety extra-low voltage, or SELV, listed (all models pending). A QR code provides users with access to the latest instruction manuals and the product is backed by a five-year warranty. The power supplies are suitable for use in a range of applications, such as in processing and packaging equipment, portable machines, valve and gate control, control panels, and other industrial applications.
