New Operations Manager for BEKA Schréder

BEKA Schréder, Africa’s leading manufacturer of luminaires and glass fibre reinforced polyester poles, has appointed Steven Kuyper as its new operations manager, effective 1 February 2016. “I am excited to be a part of the BEKA Schréder team, and look forward to driving operations while streamlining our manufacturing processes, in order to match the increasing output of LED luminaires on our manufacturing lines. This will of course assist us to increase our production capacity.

I will also be focusing on continuous improvement of our quality processes to ensure that superior product quality is supplied to customers. In addition, I am passionate about people development and believe highly in teamwork,” he said.

Steven brings a wealth of knowledge, having worked the majority of this career in the motor industry. Subsequently he expanded his experience into the private sector, armoury and defence, construction and fast moving consumer goods industries. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993, Steven additionally received various managerial and leadership qualifications, both locally and internationally, during his working years, such as Engineering, Projects, Balanced Leadership, Project Management, Lead Auditor for SHEQ systems, Procurement, Lean Manufacturing, to name but a few. Steven is also registered with ECSA as an Engineer supporting South African industry.
