Networks Unlimited is joining forces with Indegy to offer Operational Technology (OT) security solutions in Africa.

Indegy provides state-of-the-art industrial cybersecurity, visibility and control across OT environments. It is committed to protecting businesses, critical infrastructure and governments from information technology (IT) cyberthreats, malicious insiders and human error. By delivering the most comprehensive set of enterprise-class OT security capabilities, with unmatched flexibility and scale, Indegy aims to ensure the safety and reliability of complex industrial control system environments.

Network Unlimited recognises that ITOT convergence is now an essential part of manufacturing and operating environments and that the dangers of not securing these environments can be devastating.

Modern industrial operations often span complex IT and OT infrastructures. In any standard environment, thousands of devices exist and are increasingly being connected via the Industrial Internet of Things (IIo     T). This creates new challenges in securing industrial environments, with cybersecurity threats even more difficult to detect, investigate and remediate.

An additional challenge arises owing to the fact that IT and OT traditionally occupy different parts of an organisation. IT infrastructure has been central to ensuring complete visibility, security and compliance, as this is where most cyberattacks have occurred. However, in an increasingly interconnected world, OT sectors have now become targets of such attacks.

OT security is relatively new to the market, especially in Africa, leaving these operating environments vulnerable to cyberattacks. Networks Unlimited has identified Indegy’s suite of industrial cybersecurity products as a major defence against such attacks.

The Indegy Industrial Cybersecurity Suite with Indegy CIRRUS cloud service is powered by patented technology that arms security and operations teams with full visibility, security and control of ICS activity and threats. Indegy combines policy-based monitoring, network anomaly detection and signature detection with unique device integrity checks. Indegy solutions are installed in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, energy, water and other industrial organizations around the world to maximise the safety and reliability of customers’ operational environments.

Deployed as a network or virtual appliance, or a cloud service, Indegy’s agentless solution offers comprehensive security tools with machine learning and reports for IT security personnel and OT engineers. The Indegy suite delivers clear situational awareness across all sites and respective OT assets, from Windows servers to programmable logic controllers.
