The New Partnership for Africa's Development (Nepad) CEO Dr Ibrahim Mayaki would launch a Web-based portal through which information about one of the African Union’s (AU’s) flagship mandates, its Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), would be stored and managed.

At the forty seventh Nepad Steering Committee meeting, in Addis Ababa, Mayaki stated that the portal, which would be called the Virtual PIDA Information Centre (VPiC), would be officially launched by the Senegalese President and Nepad chairperson Macky Sall and AU chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma at the Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) meeting, in the Ethiopian capital this weekend.

The VPiC was a collaborative effort between Nepad, the Africa Development Bank and the AU Commission.

The Steering Committee is made up of African leaders, who are members of the Nepad HSGOC.
