Âncora will be developed through a partnership between Ventinveste, which is held by Galp Energia and Martifer; and Ferrostaal GmbH.
Project Description
The project involves the delivery and installation of 84 wind turbines, with a total rated capacity of 171.6 MW for five wind farms. The Moimenta I and II wind farms will each have twenty-one 2.05 MW turbines, a hub height of 100 m and a rotor diameter of 92.5. Eleven turbines, each with a rated power of 2.05 MW, a hub height of 80 m and a rotor diameter of 92.5 m, will be installed at the Picos Vale do Chão wind farm.
At the Três Marcos wind farm 19 turbines, each one with a rated power of 2.05 MW, a hub height of 80 m and a rotor diameter of 92.5 m, will be installed.
The Sernancelhe wind farm will comprise 12 turbines, each with a rated power of 2 MW, a hub height of 100 m and a rotor diameter of 100 m.
The project forms part of a tender from the Portuguese government for a total of 400 MW from 2006.
Value
The project is estimated at $175-million.
Duration
Construction of the Moimenta I and II, as well as the Picos Vale do Chão wind farms, is scheduled to start in early 2015.
Construction of the Sernancelhe and Três Marcos wind farms will start in mid-2015.
Latest Developments
Senvion, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Suzlon Group, has concluded a turnkey contract with Âncora Wind for the delivery and installation of 84 wind turbines for five wind farms in Portugal.
