Nampak proposes to add aluminium beverage can capacity and convert existing lines from tinplate to aluminium at its beverage can facility in Springs, Gauteng.

A new high-speed line is being installed and will be followed by the conversion of the other existing lines.

Value
R600-million.

Duration
The new high-speed line is expected to be commissioned in May 2013.

Latest Developments
Sales have been secured through long-term supply contracts with major customers. Aluminium cans are fully recyclable, which will ensure environmental benefits.
